What this article tests
Finotive Funding advertises simple conditions and a very low entry price. This test details what you actually get: the price per account size, the targets and drawdowns of each programme, how the soft rules work (notional volume, floating drawdown, strikes) and how payouts play out. All figures come from the firm's published rulebook.
For the general context and our overall opinion, see our full Finotive Funding review and the dedicated profile.
The programmes available
Finotive Funding offers four routes:
- 1 Step Challenge: a single evaluation phase, 10% target
- 2 Steps Challenge: two phases, 7.5% then 5%
- Instant Funding (Standard and Lite): immediate capital, no evaluation
- Finotive Pro: premium programme with fixed pay and reduced commissions
Challenge pricing by account size
| Account size | 1 Step | 2 Steps |
|---|---|---|
| $2,500 | $40 | $30 |
| $5,000 | $70 | $55 |
| $10,000 | $110 | $100 |
| $25,000 | $250 | $225 |
| $50,000 | $450 | $440 |
| $100,000 | $650 | $595 |
| $200,000 | $1,160 | $995 |
As a benchmark, a $50,000 account costs under $450: well below the market average for that size.
Targets and drawdowns
| Parameter | 1 Step | 2 Steps |
|---|---|---|
| Profit target | 10% | 7.5% then 5% |
| Daily drawdown | 4.0% | 4.5% |
| Maximum drawdown | 7.5% | 9.0% |
| Drawdown type | Static | Static |
| Minimum profitable days | 3 days at 0.5% | 3 days at 0.5% |
| Consistency required | No | No |
The static drawdown is the headline argument: the maximum loss threshold is calculated from the initial balance and does not move up as you profit. The daily drawdown is measured against the previous day's closing balance (the trading day runs from 5:00 PM to 4:59 PM New York time).
A profitable day means your balance at 11:00 PM CET is at least 0.5% higher than the previous day. The final required day can be fast-tracked once the target is reached and your trades are closed.
The soft rules: notional volume and floating drawdown
Finotive Funding works with strikes rather than immediate closure for its soft rules.
Notional volume
The notional volume caps the combined size of your open positions relative to your balance:
| Account size | Limit | Maximum exposure |
|---|---|---|
| $2,500 | 5,000% | $125,000 |
| $5,000 | 4,000% | $200,000 |
| $10,000 | 3,000% | $300,000 |
| $25,000 | 2,500% | $625,000 |
| $50,000 | 2,000% | $1,000,000 |
| $100,000 | 1,250% | $1,250,000 |
| $200,000 | 1,000% | $2,000,000 |
A calculator in the dashboard shows the maximum lot size allowed in real time: this is what to check before every entry if you trade several positions at once.
Floating drawdown
The floating drawdown threshold is 2.0% of the initial balance during the challenge phase, and breaches are simply logged in the progress report. Once the account is funded, the 2.0% threshold becomes binding: each confirmed breach counts as one strike and cuts that cycle's pay to 10%.
How many strikes before closure?
5 accumulated strikes lead to permanent account closure. Good news: the strike history is reset to zero when the account moves to funded status.
Payouts: what changes day to day
- First payout on request, as soon as the minimum profitable days are validated
- Weekly cycle afterwards
- Methods: bank transfer, crypto, Finotive Pay, IBAN, Revolut, SEPA
- Pay split: 80% standard, up to 90% through scaling, 75% on Instant Funding Standard
- Scaling: steps every 3 months based on your targets, with an advertised cumulative allocation of up to $5.4M
One practical point: trading continues while a payout is being processed — there is no forced pause between the request and the payment.
The limits to know
- Scalping: a cycle is treated as scalping if 40% or more of your closed trades last 120 seconds or less, or if 20% of the positive profit comes from trades held under two minutes.
- HFT: banned on Instant Funding Standard and Lite accounts beyond certain thresholds (30% of trades under 60 seconds, from 10 closed trades).
- Best trade: on Instant Funding programmes, a rule caps the best trade's share at 60%.
- Finotive Pro: this programme adds consistency requirements (weekly volume within a ±25% band) and a quarterly 5% target.
- Trustpilot: the firm shows no public Trustpilot rating; the 4.1/5 score we display comes from 190 aggregated reviews on PropFirmMatch.
Our test rating
| Criterion | Rating |
|---|---|
| Trading conditions | 4.2 / 5 |
| Payments | 3.9 / 5 |
| Support | 4.0 / 5 |
| Ease of use | 4.3 / 5 |
| Average | 4.1 / 5 |
Trading conditions and ergonomics pull the rating up: static drawdown, low pricing, a clear dashboard with a built-in risk calculator. Payments are the dividing point: the advertised turnaround is short, but online reviews remain polarised.
Who this test is for
This test is useful if you want a $25,000 to $100,000 account with a static drawdown and a small entry budget. If you scalp under two minutes or mainly trade Instant Funding with series of very short trades, read the rulebook before buying: those are exactly the cases where strikes fall.
